  1. You won’t believe how mine came out:

You scored as a John Calvin

Much of what is now called Calvinism had more to do with his followers than Calvin himself, and so you may or may not be committed to TULIP, though God’s sovereignty is all important.

Yeah, “you may or may not be committed to TULIP”, no kidding. Does this officially make me a Calvinist?

  2. I’ve never even heard of Anselm.

Anselm is the outstanding theologian of the medieval period. He sees man’s primary problem as having failed to render unto God what we owe him, so God becomes man in Christ and gives God what he is due. You should read ‘Cur Deus Homo?’

  3. I think I would rather be Calvin than Barth because atleast Calvin believed in the inerrancy of Scripture.

    To Pizza man:

    Anselm

Was an abbot(leader) monk in Normandy(I think modern day France) and an Arch Bishop of Canterbury(England/Great Briton) in the 12th century. He lived from 1033 A.D. to about 1109 A.D.

The popular Protestant view of the Atonement stems from him. He disagreed with the classical Atonement theory and came up with an alternative in which a modified form is still tought today.

He did alot of things in his day. I may be wrong about this ……for I sometimes get some of the fathers confused, but I think he was outspoken against the Crusades.

Either last year or the year before that I bought a book called “Anselm of Canterbury: The Major Works.

It has his works called “On Truth”, “On Free Will”, “On the Fall of the devil”, “Why God became man”, “On the virgin conception and original sin”, “On the Procession of the Holy Spirit”, “De Concordia(The Compatibility of God’s Foreknowledge, Predestination, and Grace with Human Freedom)

as well as some other stuff.

    Take Care and God bless

  6. Oh

I forgot to add that Anselm is seen by the East as being one of the first Western Scholastics.

    Western Scholasticism begins with him.
