37. All—It is remarkable that this word is in the Greek neuter. It expresses not so much a person as a nature, a thing, a character: The whole sort that the Father giveth me. These gross men did not belong to those given, because, entertaining nothing but hopes of mercenary gain from Christ and his [...]

As stated before, Mr. Brown says that his primary objective in writing his short book was for the purpose of clearing up misunderstandings concerning what Calvinists believe. In the process of doing this he has also engaged in trying to demonize the opposing system of belief: Arminianism. I say demonize because Brown, like so many [...]

J.C. Thibodaux continues to expose John Hendryx’s many logical fallacies and blatant misrepresentation of synergism. Be sure to check it out.
Reply to John Hendryx’s continued distortions
You can read J.C.’s initial reply to John’s “Challenge to all Synergists” here and his response to John’s first rebuttal (via e-mail) here.

Having examined the primary passages that teach apostasy we now examine the passages that the advocates of unconditional eternal security believe clearly support their doctrine:
John 10:27-29
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of [...]

Just wanted to take a minute to recommend this excellent treatment of John 6 by Richard Coords at Examining Calvinism.

Gordan from Reformed Mafia has been kind enough to devote an entire post to some comments I made in a combox at Triablogue. I thought I would return the favor by devoting a post to addressing his concerns. Gordan’s comments are in blue. I made some spelling corrections in my original comments that Gordan quotes.
I [...]

I have decided not to engage John 6 at Arminian Perspectives. The Calvinist exegesis is just too strong, and I cannot figure out how to deal with it.
Just kidding
The real reason I have decided not to engage the text is because I have been directed to a four part essay written by Robert [...]

I will be doing a series on John 6 as it has become the favorite Calvinist proof text for the doctrines of unconditional election, irresistible grace, and inevitable perseverance. For some Calvinists it is the answer to every Arminian objection to “Reformed” theology. For this reason I want to take a close look at this [...]

Before examining some of the other Calvinists “proof texts” for irresistible regeneration, we will take a moment to deal with a common Calvinist objection to the Arminian appeal to Jn. 12:32 as an example of universal “drawing”.
When Calvinists point to John 6:44 as an example of particular irresistible “drawing”, Arminians will often quickly refer to [...]

As I stated in my last post, there is no more important question with regards to the controversy between Arminianism and Calvinism than the question of priority with regards to faith and regeneration. R.C. Sproul writes,
A cardinal point or Reformed theology [Calvinism] is the maxim: “Regeneration precedes faith.” Our nature is so corrupt, the power [...]
